Condition: Beautiful original vintage condition. Signs of the watches age include some deplating of the chromed crown, small deep scratches and dents. These all serve to give this gorgeous vintage piece character rather than detract from its appearance.

Description: The Cortebert brand was established in Switzerland in the 19th century and they became suppliers of quality consumer level watches to railways in multiple countries. The piece on offer here is a lovely original example of chronograph design which was very popular in the late 40s into the 50s.

It is rare to see examples of fully functional chronographs from this era, and rarer that they are all original. At the time of offering, this watch winds well, holds wind and runs keeping reasonable time for a watch of this age. the chronograph function works just as it should, measuring time accurately, and reseting to zero firmly. This is lovely vintage piece for a collector, or first time buyer wanting a wearable example of a mid-century chrono.
